Recently, theories have been circulating about genes related to schizophrenia potentially being selected for during human evolution. While this may explain the prevalence of schizophrenia, with 0.3-0.7% of people developing the illness at some point in their lives, it is probably too simple of a story. The article we discuss below, by Xu et al. (2015), aims to look much more closely at this phenomenon and determine whether or not it is true.
